First Aid and BDSM: calling an ambulance
Simple! You just Dial 999!
Actually there is a lot more to it that that.
When you call, try to have as much information as possible ready. Try to stay calm, and speak clearly. If possible, get into a quiet area. (Of course, if you are also administering First Aid, this may not always be easy).
If you are the First Aider and have instructed someone else to phone, give them as many details as you possibly can.
Give your name (anything will do), telephone number and location you are calling from, including house name and number. If possible, have someone outside who can show the ambulance where to go.
Explain the problem clearly. Is the casualty conscious/ breathing? What are the symptoms? Do they have any medical condition you are aware of? Has this problem occurred in the past? Have they taken any medication? Are they on drugs, drunken etc?
You will be asked to administer First Aid, (even if you have already told them you are doing so) so follow all instructions given clearly, even if you already have done do.
Stay with / or return to the casualty as soon as possible and remain until help arrives. You may be asked for all the information you have again.
When the casualty has received professional help, return to the scene and clear up. I’m sure you would hate to have another accident on your hands.
